Our Mission

Greater Western Sydney Lost & Roaming Pet Capture Services advocates strongly for responsible pet ownership, ethical responsible rehoming practices and the deterrence/prevention measures against existing issues that affect companion animals such as roaming pets, irresponsible/negligent pet owners, unethical backyard breeding, pet dumpings, neglect, abuse and abandonment.

Our Initiatives

We started initiatives that assisted disadvantaged and struggling pet owners such as a pet food bank and strived to provide resources that would prevent repeat escapes.

We have conducted many lost pet searches and work collaboratively with our local communities to search for and reunite lost pets with their owners.

We aimed to encourage our local communities to assist lost/roaming animals that they encounter safely, humanely and in accordance to relevant legislation.

We have spread awareness about the prevalence of pet dumpings (singular/mass pet dumpings) in Greater Western Sydney, meticulously documented known pet dumping hotspots and advocated for countermeasures to deter and prevent these occurrences and also advocated for CCTV cameras to be put up to ensure pet dumpers are investigated, prosecuted and penalised.

We made the move in 2024 to acquire specialist pet finding/capture equipment such as trail cameras, a thermal camera, a drone, a Missy Trap (which we were gifted by a pet transport company) and smaller animal traps.

We continue to work on searching for, securing/rescuing sighted roaming companion animals, taking them to Shelters if their owners can not be contacted or if they are not microchipped/registered and undertaking lost pet searches with the aim to humanely and safely locate, capture lost pets and reunite them with their owner.

We are proud to state that over 5 years, we have assisted thousands of pets and we aim to continue to keep helping pets.
